Shopping in Milan: my favourite tips, outlets & addresses!

Would you like to go shopping in Milan? Here are a few good tips on some of the most important outlets!

Milan, Capital of Fashion & Shopping!

Milan is a city that breathes fashion. On every street corner, in the shops, in people's attitude and dress, and even on the scaffolding of churches, fashion is everywhere! It is not only during Fashion Week that Milan is a fashion capital! One of the city's shopping centres is the city centre, around the central square, that of Milan Cathedral, better known as the "Duomo". It's a special building, absolutely unique, and for good reason, it took almost 600 years to complete, with changes in style and design. Just a few metres away are La Rinascente, THE Milanese department shop, and Quadrilatero de Oro, the city's luxury district, included between four streets: Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni and Via San Andrea.

Outlets: good shopping tips in Milan

Luxury everywhere! But if you don't have the budget for the current collection, why not fall for older collections? Outlets are made for you! An outlet, if you don't know it, is a shop that offers items at factory prices, and by extension a shop that sells unsold items from the major brands. It is a religion in the United States, and also in Milan. It must be said that Milan is the industrial capital of Italian fashion: most of the factories are located in its urban area. Second point: the Milanese love novelty, so unsold items from old collections often end up in an outlet.

The favourite outlets in Milan:

- KILO FASCION: a shop that doesn't look good outside, very close to Piazza San Babila, on the edge of Quadrilatero de Oro. And yet inside, DSquared jackets stand alongside Ralph Lauren or Just Cavalli shirts. - MATIA'S FASHION OUTLET: A prime member of the Milan outlet universe born in 2009. This chain has six shops, one of which is bound to interest you if you are parents: they have a shop dedicated to babies and children, up to 16 years old! A nice choice of brands such as Bonpoint, Armani Junior, Petit Bateau, etc. - D MAGAZINE: Real luxury Outlet at reduced prices: a Dolce & Gabbana jacket at 285€ instead of 2800. Yves Saint Laurent compensations at 149€ instead of 800. Absolutely incredible! - HIGHLINE OUTLET: my favourite! A shop in the basement, as clean and neat as a "current collection" shop. The shelves are nickels, the staff friendly, in short, a must!

Good Shopping plans in Milan: Outlet cities outside the city

In Milan, there are also outlet cities, Marques Avenue spirit if you know, but even more interesting! Shuttle buses will take you there for a fixed price of about 50 euros per person. Tip: go there during the sales! The prices, already interesting, are then really sold off: at the end of the sales, 60 to 80% off the initial sale price! In Milan, wifi is free everywhere in the city! Isn't that great?
